Burst Pipes and Water Leaks
Burst pipes are one of the most damaging plumbing emergencies a homeowner can face. In Mairangi Bay, older homes with original copper or galvanised pipework are particularly vulnerable during temperature drops or periods of high water pressure. Warning signs include sudden drops in pressure, wet patches on walls or ceilings, and unexplained spikes in your water bill. Flowpro locates the source fast and carries out a durable repair that meets current New Zealand standards.
Clogged Drains and Sewer Backups
Blocked drains are a frequent complaint in Mairangi Bay, especially in properties surrounded by established trees whose roots can infiltrate older clay or concrete sewer pipes. Kitchen grease buildup, soap scum, and foreign objects flushed down toilets add to the problem. If you notice slow-draining sinks, gurgling sounds, or foul odours near floor wastes, it is time to call a plumber. We use CCTV inspection to pinpoint the blockage and high-pressure jetting to clear it properly.
Water Heater Failures
Mairangi Bay households rely heavily on their hot water systems, and a failure always seems to happen at the worst possible time. Hard water minerals can accumulate inside cylinders and reduce efficiency, while ageing elements, corroded anodes, and faulty thermostats cause complete shutdowns. Signs of trouble include lukewarm water, discolouration, or a pressure relief valve that keeps releasing. Our team diagnoses the fault quickly and advises whether a repair or full replacement is the more cost-effective option for your situation.
Low Water Pressure and Pipe Corrosion
Low water pressure in Mairangi Bay homes is often caused by corroded pipes, partially closed isolating valves, or scale buildup inside older pipework. Coastal properties can also experience accelerated corrosion due to the salt-laden air that is common near the Mairangi Bay waterfront. Left unaddressed, corroded pipes can develop pinhole leaks that cause hidden water damage inside walls and floors. We inspect the entire water supply line, identify the cause, and replace affected sections with modern materials designed to last.
